Emergency & Specialized Services

Vertical Stack Lining is a no-dig solution that renews vertical drain and sewer pipes from the inside. Using CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) technology, we insert a resin-soaked liner into the pipe, inflate it, and cure it in place—creating a strong new pipe within the old one.

This method works for vertical pipes inside walls or risers, especially those found in high-rises. It’s ideal for old cast iron or corroded pipes with cracks, pinholes, or leaks.

Vertical Stack Lining is one of our specialized trenchless rehabilitation techniques for critical vertical assets like manholes and wet wells, forming part of Pelican Underground’s comprehensive suite of underground infrastructure solutions for non-disruptive repair and asset longevity.

How Does SSP Work?

SSP, or Soil Stack Pipe lining, follows a simple yet powerful process:

01

Inspection

We use cameras to assess the inside of the pipe.

02

Prep & Cleaning

Our team performs industrial-grade drain cleaning to remove buildup, rust, or scale.

03

Lining

A felt or fiberglass liner is soaked in epoxy resin and inserted into the vertical pipe.

04

Curing

We inflate the liner, then cure it with heat or steam to harden.

05

Final Check

A final video inspection ensures the pipe is fully sealed and flowing.

Want full system protection? Combine vertical stack lining with trenchless pipeline renewal for horizontal pipes and get end-to-end reliability.

How Long Does Vertical Stack Lining Last?

When installed correctly, CIPP-based vertical stack lining lasts 50 years or more. We use premium materials and follow NASSCO guidelines to meet high standards. Our partnerships with top providers like Interfit USA, Perma-Liner, and NuFlow ensure you get proven systems backed by years of research.
